Need driver for Validity Sensor WBF (PID=0018) biometric scanner on HP Pavilion dv6 and upgraded to WINDOWS 10 I upgraded to Windows 10 and now my fingerprint scanner does not work. Even the Win10 guru who helped me cure the Norton issue was unable to find a driver for my Validity Sensor (WBF)(PID=0018).

Before my computer upgraded to Windows 10 in 2015, the original OS (Windows 7) was capable of using the Fingerprint sensor that came built in and the Caps Lock light indicator would work. After the upgrade, neither the sensor or the light indicator wouldwork. I had installed the latest Fingerprint driver for Windows 10, but the setup would fail by bringing up the following message: ' This action is only valid for products that are currently installed'. I had also tried to install the drivers by usingthe.inf.
files, but when they get installed, it shows up error code 10. About the light indicator, I'm not sure if the Hotkey driver is responsible for it and the black notification bubble that shows the user that caps lock or number lock is on. I was consideringto install Windows 7 or 8.1 to make these functions work, but I want to avoid the need of reinstalling every single program I have installed on my PC currently. If any of you have a suggestion, please contact me ASAP.Sincerely,Jerry. I forgot to mention I don't have the faulty fingerprint driver installed. Even if it's x64 compatible, Windows would just reject it as if it was an x86 driver.
Any x64 compatible driver?Preferably, I would also like to use the Synaptics WBF drivers. It might work.Sincerely,Jerry.P.S. My device manager shows a faulty HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor that refuses to be removed (even if it acts like if the driver and its files were removed).

For instructions on how to do this.If you install legacy drivers on Windows 7 or later with Windows Biometric Framework, there is a chance that a future Windows Update could automatically replace the legacy driver with the WBF driver, which could cause your application to not work well.
